Happy 9 Month Birthday!
12:10 PM
Y'all, I have a 9 month old! How can this be? Where did the time go? Being Cannon's mom has been my best accomplishment yet. I love every new stage even better than the one before (if that is possible). Cannon has the sweetest spirit just like his Dad. He is so lovable and kind it makes my heart melt. He loves to kiss my face 100 times a day and sighs and hums when you kiss him or hug him.
Cannon,
You have become such a strong willed, independent child. You do not like for mommy to feed you or for mommy to show you how to do things. You want to practice doing them yourself and can't stand me helping you. When I try to feed you, you slap the spoon from me and try to do it yourself. When I am dressing you, you put your own arms through the shirt and get very upset if I take too long. You do not like being held down during diaper changes and you want to be on the move constantly. You are very good at entertaining yourself and you enjoy thinking about how things work. Everyone says you are such a busy body and that you are a thinker. I would agree. When you get focused on something you concentrate so hard that you start to drool. If you are concentrating on something you WILL NOT listen to anyone who tries to distract you. You also have a bit of a temper. Lord help us! You get that from your Dad too. You get upset if your toys don't work like you want them to or if you can't get to something. When things don't come easy to you you will work really hard to figure them out but you get irritated easily.
You love life and are always such a happy baby. I am sure all moms say that but really you are THE BEST baby! Your favorite things are to watch the fish swim, to play in the water, to point at objects and make mommy name them, to play patty cake, drink your milk, eat, go for rides and play with your family. You love for mommy to read with you and books are your favorite toys.
Everyone who knows you would say that you are the easiest going baby and that you are such a good boy. You only cry if you are hungry and who could blame you. You get that from me! Most of our friends and family say you look like Daddy or Hunter but that as you get older they see more of me in you. I tell your Dad all the time that you are so much better than I could have ever imagined my child to be. Your Dad and I adore you!
We can't wait to see you grow up but wish the time would slow down. I am not ready for you to be a 1 year old. Forever will not be long enough to be your mommy. You are truly my whole world.
