Google Lit Trips
11:37 AM
I am so excited to talk to you today about Google Lit Trips. This is one of those things that when you come across it as an educator your wheels won't stop spinning. As you know I have been working on my NC unit and therefor have bought many books that involve real locations. I have been desperately searching for a great way to map out the places we learn about. Although I have bought my wonderful map, I still wanted a way to make it even more interactive.
The other day when searching the internet I came across http://www.googlelittrips.org/ . This is a website that combines literature and Google Earth to make learning more meaningful. Of course I was thrilled but then quickly realized that the books I wanted to study where not listed. Next, I searched the internet looking for instructions on how to make my own Google Lit Trip. I came across several wonderful tutorials. After making my own trips I decided to create an assignment where my students make their own trips as well. I know my little 4th graders are going to be thrilled to use the books we are reading in class to make their own Google Lit Trips!
