100th Day of School
1:36 PM
Hey friends, today we celebrated the 100th Day of School. It feels great to only have 80 days left! The last several years I have despereatley wanted to find a way to celebrate the 100th Day of School in a more meaningful way. I didn't want to have the students draw 100 pictures or make a 100's Day hat (although I have done both in the past) so I began researching words that relate to 100 and I found the term "googol".
A googol refers to a number with a 1 and 100 zeros behind it. My kids were thrilled to learn about a googol and a googolplex. We did lots of neat activities to go with this term. If you are intereste in my unit you can purchase it on TPT, but I thought just for fun I would give away 2 copies to the first two people who comment.

Ugh! Must be in a different time zone. My kiddos just left for the day. Awesome ideas!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I always read On Beyond A Million to my class and they learn about googol. These activities will be great to use with the book next year.

I love how you are thinking outside the box. My son's teacher did this in third grade. Smart thinking! Love your blog. :o)
